Keith Cabin

Pemberton, BC

This small footprint cabin soars in height to create interior spaces that feel open, airy and connected the west coast wilderness that lies just beyond the walls. This lot sits adjacent to Miller Creek in Pemberton so the main floor is kept as a utilitarian space due to flood construction level requirements with the upper floor containing the living spaces. A simple form is used to enable the use of pre-fabricated walls and roof. The cabin is strategically placed on the site to capitalize on mountain views and for southern exposure.

Exterior materials are selected to be robust and to resists the elements of a wilderness environment. Composite Trespa panels comprise the majority of the cladding with wood siding being placed only in well protected areas. High efficiency aluminum clad windows will be used to ensure modern and durable fenestration. A metal roof is being planned to further ensure durability and resistance to fluctuating winter and summer conditions that this cabin with endure.
